NeREA At The Fair!!!
NeREA mobilized to distribute materials at this year's Nebraska State Fair. Nebraska Renewable Energy Systems donated a portion of it's trailer space to NeREA so we could meet and greet the public. In addition to receiving NeREA promotional materials, visitors to the trailer could get up close and personal with a solar array, oilseed crush equipment, samples of oilseed and crude oil for biodiesel production, components for a homebrew wind turbine, and a real live 1984 Ford Escort diesel fueled with B-100 (and yes, visitors could start the car, and yes, people were sniffing the tailpipe). The most important thing being passed out at the fair was knowledge. We had lots of questions and did our best to provide information to anyone who wanted it. Thank you to all the people who stopped by to visit, and thank you to all the NeREA volunteers who donated their time to make this possible.
NeREA State Fair Headquarters. Thank You NRES for donating the space.
NeREA President Robert Byrnes, and board member Dennis Bjorkman visit with Senator Ben Nelson.
Robert Byrnes and Senator Nelson discussed Nebraska's Renewable Energy site map and the variety of oilseeds (in 5 gallon buckets) which can be used in biodiesel production.
